Arpitha Reddy
Arpitha, an accomplished artist and alumna of JNTU College of Fine Arts, Hyderabad, has a rich academic background with an M.A. in Political Science from Osmania University, Hyderabad (1996) and another M.A. in Drawing and Painting from Hamidia College, Barkatulla University, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh (2009). Her artistic journey has been shaped by diverse influences and extensive training.
Arpitha honed her skills at the Guruvayoor Institute of Mural Painting in Kerala, specializing in the Kerala Temple Mural Style, an art form she has passionately pursued for over a decade. Her repertoire extends to various traditional art forms such as Miniature, Tanjore, Thangka, Cherial, Kalamkari, Pattachitra, and Phad.
Her artistic oeuvre predominantly revolves around the adaptation of the Kerala Mural Paintings, a style rich in symbolism and spiritual depth.
Arpitha's commitment to her craft has earned her recognition and accolades over the years, including the prestigious Kalidasa Rashtriya Puraskar from the Kalidasa Academy, Ujjain, in the traditional painting category (2012), and the Make in India Award by the Bharat Nirman Foundation, New Delhi (2018), among others.
She has exhibited her works extensively in India and abroad, including the United States. Her participation in international events and art camps underscores her dedication to the world of art.
Arpitha's creations reflect her deep-rooted connection to tradition, spirituality, and the enduring power of artistic expression. Her work continues to captivate audiences, showcasing the timeless beauty of Indian artistry.
