Bamdeb Mondal
Bamdeb Mondal is an accomplished sculptor with a B.V.A. in Sculpture from the College of Art and Design, Burdwan University, and an M.F.A. in Sculpture from Rabindra Bharati University, where they graduated as a First Class First Gold Medalist.
Renowned for their mastery in sculpture and interdisciplinary approaches, the artist has received numerous accolades, including the Garhi Scholarship by Lalit Kala Akademi and awards from Rabindra Bharati University and the West Bengal Sarba Shiksha Abhijan. Their work has been featured in prestigious residencies such as the International Artist Residency in Udaipur and “The Golden Thread” Residency in West Bengal.
The artist’s practice has been showcased internationally, including exhibitions in Germany, the Netherlands, and Hungary, as well as in significant national platforms such as the 56th Birla Academy Annual Show and the 53rd National Exhibition of Art by Lalit Kala Akademi. Additionally, they have conducted Dhokra-making workshops at institutions like Rabindra Bharati University and Mayo College Art School.
With a diverse portfolio spanning traditional sculpture, installation art, and collaborative projects, their works explore themes of mythology, organic forms, and social narratives, resonating with audiences worldwide.
