Overview
Claire Iono’s artistic journey is a reflection of her transformative spiritual path. Born in 1969 in Paris, she desired to lead multiple lives in one, eventually focusing on her art. Trained in Fine Arts in France by a Bauhaus painter, she furthered her skills through Sumi-e, a Japanese painting technique. This technique profoundly influenced her artistic growth, encouraging her to see the world differently. Claire now resides in Auroville, India, where she emphasizes finesse in strokes, lines, and harmony among elements, aiming for simplicity in her work. Her art combines influences from traditional Indian arts like tempera with wash technique, as well as East-Asian techniques like watercolors and ink. Claire’s symbolic cityscapes evoke timeless, unknown metropolises or mythical cities, reflecting her diverse cultural influences.
