Mayadhar Sahu (b. 1987, Odisha, India) is an accomplished sculptor with a Master’s in Visual Arts (2015) from M.S. University, Baroda, and a Bachelor’s in Visual Arts (2010) from B.K. College of Art and Crafts, Bhubaneswar. Known for his thematic explorations of rural life and personal narratives, his work often delves into cultural identity and memory.
With over two decades of practice, Mayadhar has received numerous accolades, including the Junior Fellowship Award (2018), the Kalanand Art Award (2023), and the Khoj Support Grant (2020). He has presented his work in solo exhibitions such as "Astapura" at Bikaner House, New Delhi (2024) and "Village Tales" at Sakshi Art Gallery, Mumbai (2015). His sculptures have been showcased in prestigious group shows like India Art Fair, CIMA Awards, and Art Mumbai.
His works are part of significant collections, including Lalit Kala Akademi, Odisha Lalit Kala Academy, Agastya International Foundation, and private collectors in India, the UK, and the USA. Beyond exhibitions, he engages in performance art and long-distance cycle yatras, embodying a deep connection to both art and endurance. He lives and works in Baroda, Gujarat.
