Biography

Ansh Kumar is an artist based in Delhi/Rishikesh, India, graduated with a bachelor's degree in architecture from Delhi. Since the age of 8, he has been self-taught in various art mediums such as digital art, new media, projection mapping, animation, collage, clay, printmaking, print design, and natural building.

His current interests involve bringing interactive clay and glass sculptures to life, seamlessly blending mediums like printmaking, painting, new media, light, and textile. Drawing from his background in architecture, he leverages his expertise in space and media design to craft immersive, interactive worlds in the physical realm. Ansh also engages in intimate, curatedaudio-visual experiences to captivate the audience through abstract storytelling.

Ansh's artistic journey is a celebration of human traces and their profound implications. His canvases serve as catalysts for interaction and creation. Ansh uses play as a method to encourage thee viewer to b a collaborator while questioning world views. Beyond aesthetics, Ansh's work reflects on human perception, challenging the norms of how we judge each other based on skin colour, body forms, and external value. Instead, he advocates for celebrating the stories and play within us, fostering better human connections and a kinder, more playful world.

In a unique collaboration with his brother, Ansh co-initiated 'Tiny Farm Lab'—a creative space converging design, art, science, tech, natural building, bio- materials, and economics. Their hands have sculpted a mud house in a Rishikesh village, adorned with ornamental mud sculptures, encouraging a community of volunteers and travellers from around the world.

Ansh's exhibitions, in the last three years, span over seven countries, including  prominent events like Miami Art Basel, LTK4 Cologne, SaLadakh(southeast
Asias highest exhibit) India Art Fair’s Young Collectors Programme, New York (Ars Electronica), Munich, Paris (CADAF), Austria, Goa, Delhi, Toronto, and Tokyo.
