Vivek Nimbolkar
Born in 1977, the artist holds an MFA in Painting from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, and a Master’s in Indology from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Pune. With over two decades of experience, his multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, murals, and art education. His works reflect a deep engagement with Indian visual culture and environmental themes, informed by academic research and a rich commercial background, including projects for the Pune Cantonment Board and the Central Government.
He has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions, including the Lalit Kala Akademi, Jehangir Art Gallery, Bombay Art Society, Pune Biennale, and India Art Festival. His solo exhibitions have been held at Art2Day Gallery Pune, ICA Gallery Jaipur, and the State Art Gallery in Hyderabad, among others.
He has presented research at national art seminars and published scholarly articles on contemporary art in peer-reviewed journals. A seasoned educator and demonstrator, he has conducted workshops and seminars at institutions like Symbiosis International University and Vishwakarma College. His contributions extend to archaeological and numismatic studies, blending art with history and culture. Passionate about community engagement, he continues to explore new modes of expression, bridging tradition with contemporary practice.
