Biography

Meghna’s art reflects natural elements and creatures adapting to diverse

everchanging landscapes. Natural light affecting the behaviour and growth of all
beings are of interest to her.


She completed her education BFA (Major-Painting) from Sir. J.J School of Art in
2009. Followed by a Post-Graduation in Museology & Conservation studies in 2010
from the CSMVS Museum, Mumbai. More recently, Meghna has a Post-graduation
in Arts Based Therapy from Mind & Art Institute, Mumbai in 2020.


Meghna’s art practice explores the study of natural formations and geological
patterns. Her painted drawings are created using textured paper in layers on textile
creating a fragile terrain, upon which she draws formations of natural elements that
adapt to an ever changing environment reflecting the fragility of our existence. She
began exploring working with mixed mediums including glass and found object
assemblages that are more reflective of our confinement during the pandemic
worldwide. Meghna has received the Khoj Artists Association grant in 2020. She is
an Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation awardee, received in 2021. She had two solo
exhibitions and participated in several group exhibitions. Meghna participated in an
exhibition at the India Art Fair, Delhi titled Transmutations by Young contemporaries
through Art alive gallery in 2022. She participated in a group exhibit titled RHIZOME:
Tracing eco cultural identities at the CSMVS Museum, Mumbai in 2023. Apart from
which she has been a part of several prestigious art residencies across the country.
