Anup Karar

Anup Karar is an Indian painter known for his evocative depictions of rural life, landscapes, and the enduring relationship between people and nature. He graduated in Fine Arts from the Indian College of Art and Draftsmanship, Kolkata, in 1988. Over the course of his career, he has held numerous solo exhibitions at leading venues, including the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata; Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai; Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi; Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Kolkata; Vinyasa Art Gallery, Chennai; and Bajaj Art Gallery, Mumbai. He has also participated in several group exhibitions across Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Goa, Bengaluru, and Chennai. Karar's paintings are distinguished by their rich colours, lyrical compositions, and sensitive portrayal of everyday life, capturing the quiet beauty and cultural rhythms of the Indian landscape. His works are held in private collections across India and abroad.
