Gouri Vemula

Gouri Vemula, born in 1972 in Hyderabad, began her journey as a National-level athlete before immersing herself in the world of art. She earned a BFA in Painting from Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad, and an MFA in Printmaking from the Sarojini Naidu School of Arts, University of Hyderabad. Additionally, she completed a Drawing Master’s course from Vijaymahantesh Lalit Kala Mahavidyalaya, Karnataka.

Vemula’s artistic practice is distinguished by her mastery of etching and drypoint techniques, complemented by intricate pen and ink drawings. Her works vividly depict surreal landscapes interwoven with mythological figures of gods and goddesses, animals, human forms, and enchanting motifs inspired by nature.

Throughout her career, she has participated in numerous national and international group exhibitions and has also showcased her talent through solo exhibitions.
