Biography
Amit Romani is a Mumbai-based visual artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, and installation. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Drawing & Painting) from Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, in 2003.
Romani gained international recognition as a winner of 'Imagining Our Future Together', an art competition organized by the World Bank, where his work featured in a travelling exhibition across Bangladesh, India, and the United States. Two of his large-scale paintings were acquired for the World Bank's permanent collection in Washington, D.C.
His debut solo exhibition, 'Silence Must Be Heard', presented at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, explored themes of humanity, introspection, and social ethics through paintings, drawings, and site-responsive installations. Inspired by the complexities of urban life, his practice investigates space, silence, and the emotional landscapes of contemporary existence. His works are held in private and institutional collections across India, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
