The Pichwai Collection is a celebration of tradition and transformation - bringing together exquisite examples of both historical and contemporary Pichwai art. Rooted in devotion and tradition, it originated over 400 years ago in Nathdwara, Rajasthan, as an offering to Shrinathji, a form of Lord Krishna. These intricate, hand-painted cloth artworks traditionally depict mythological tales, festivals, and rituals - imbued with symbolism, rich colors, and sacred geometry.

The exhibition reimagines Pichwai art form through a contemporary lens, creating a dialogue between time-honored techniques and modern aesthetics. While staying anchored in the spiritual and narrative essence of Pichwai. From detailed renderings of lotus ponds and cows to bold compositions that distill symbolic elements into modern design, the exhibition celebrates both continuity and innovation.

By placing these works side by side, The Pichwai Collection invites viewers to reflect on the continuity of devotion, the evolution of artistic expression, and the ways in which heritage can find renewed meaning in today’s cultural landscape. It is both a homage to the past and a window into the future of this timeless art form.
