An exhibition begins by arranging arrivals. Objects reach the gallery in crates, portfolios, digital files and conversations. By the time they are placed under light, they can appear self-contained, as if the wall, pedestal or vitrine merely receives a form already complete. Nothing Arrives Unchanged starts from a contrary proposition. Arrival is never a neutral endpoint. It is a condition produced through prior passages, and it initiates further ones. Clay has crossed geological, industrial and thermal states. Steel has passed through specification, cutting, welding and oxidation. A demolished settlement has been converted into a photograph, an analytical image and a routed surface. A myth has travelled through text, sculpture, painting, pedagogy and public recollection. These histories do not remain equally legible. Some are held in a surface; others are concealed by the coherence of the finished work.
