Kalakriti Art Gallery
Featuring artists such as Dhruti Mahajan, Jignesh Panchal, Priyanka Aelay and Sumanto Chowdhury, Kalakriti Art Gallery is set to participate in IAF EDI+IONS, a new initiative furthering India Art fair’s annual curatorial vision on 1 November at RMZ The Loft in Hyderabad.
IAF EDI+IONS, will include city-specific special showcases designed to strengthen art hubs across the region, starting with Hyderabad. Ever since its conception, India Art Fair has played a pivotal role in providing a platform to discover modern and contemporary art from South Asia and helping to grow a robust local art scene. With this Hyderabad edition, the fair hopes to support artists, galleries and other art market players across India. The showcase will present a curated list of leading galleries, out of which Kalakriti Art Gallery is only one of three galleries that are based in Hyderabad. IAF EDI+IONS is presented by RMZ Foundation, a South India based art foundation, at RMZ THE LOFT.

Kalakriti Art Gallery will display works by four emerging artists – Dhruti Mahajan, Jignesh Panchal, Priyanka Aelay and Sumanto Chowdhury. Dhruti Mahajan explores themes of eternity, cycles, and remembrances though her wreaths made of hand-cut and layered paper relief on paper, Jignesh Panchal examines the fragments of contemporary life—reconstructing spaces, objects, and memories to probe the complex relationship between human habitation and the ever-shifting urban landscape, Priyanka Aelay represents flora and fauna in her minimalist approach to Indian miniature art, and Sumanto Chowshury draws inspiration from interior and exterior architectural forms to create expansive landscapes and skies that bridge nature and habitation.
Gallerist Rekha Lahoti says, “Kalakriti Art Gallery warmly welcomes the India Art Fair to Hyderabad for its upcoming edition. It’s a fabulous initiative, expanding horizons and bringing the contemporary art world closer to our city. As we celebrate our 23rd year, our constant endeavour has been to promote art and culture in Hyderabad.
This development truly reinforces our efforts and will significantly enhance art awareness within the city – bringing art to the public and the public to art. It’s a wonderful moment for the city’s growing art ecosystem.”
