A more playful attitude is adopted with the glaze. There is the opportunity to experiment with colour on a three dimensional surface. Forms with which everyone relates: bowls, plates, vases, everyday simple objects are altered completely with respect to their function. An attempt has been made to take the form beyond the function normally associated with it. Decorating them with graphic patterns, their surface is my canvas.
The 'Temple' series is not just about the possibilities with the form, but also about the expression of the peace experienced through the form. The influence comes from the temples of South India. But, it is not a realistic representation of temples. It has nothing to do with religion. It has to do with faith; with the meditative energy associated with 'God'.
