Biography

Patitapaban (Kulu) Ojha (b. 1989, Odisha) is a contemporary visual artist whose practice spans paper relief, sculpture, and mixed-media installation. He completed his Bachelor of Visual Arts in Graphic Arts from B.K. College of Art and Craft, Bhubaneswar, under Utkal University of Culture, and later earned his Master of Visual Arts in Graphic Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, in 2013.


Known for his innovative use of handmade paper and layered sculptural constructions, Ojha creates works that draw from architecture, craft traditions, and cultural memory. 


Ojha has exhibited extensively at major national and international platforms, including India Art Fair (2019, 2020, 2022, 2023), Art Mumbai (2024, 2025), Paper Positions Berlin (2025), Kasturbhai Lalbhai Museum, Ahmedabad (2022), and Silkeborg Bad, Denmark (2022). He has also participated in significant artist residencies, including Barac Art Mannheim, Germany (2023), and the multidisciplinary residency “Parenthesis” at Kolkata Centre for Creativity (2019).


His achievements include the Paper Art Award (Silver) at Haus des Papiers, Germany (2025), the National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India (2015), and awards from Odisha State Lalit Kala Akademi and the South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur. Ojha lives and works in India.
