Keerti Pooja

Born in 1995 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, Keerti Pooja is a Baroda-based artist whose practice spans painting and printmaking. She completed her BFA in Painting from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, in 2018 and her MFA in Printmaking from M.S. University, Baroda, in 2020, where she was awarded a gold medal.

Grounded in metaphorical storytelling, Pooja’s practice engages with untold histories and overlooked lives, exploring themes of migration, memory, resilience and lived experience. Through watercolour, etching and layered surfaces, she narrates stories of forgotten faces and places, reflecting on belongings as symbols of personal journeys and what individuals carry within them. Her works capture moments that seem to stand still in time, evoking narratives of movement, survival and memory.

Her work has been exhibited widely in India and internationally, including at India Art Fair, New Delhi; National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi and Mumbai; Arts4All & MOSA, Belgium; and Pluralism CVA, Denver. She has also participated in artist residencies at Space Studio, Gallery Dotwalk and Arts4All, among others. Pooja is the recipient of recognitions including Abir First Take (2019), Indian Printmaker House (2021) and the MAP Grant (2021).

She is currently based in Baroda, where she lives and works.
