Standing on Sacred Ground by Kalakriti Art Gallery
Kalakriti Art Gallery presents a group exhibition bringing together seven contemporary artists — Bolgum Nagesh Goud, Bratin Khan, Dhruti Mahajan, Keerti Pooja, Mayadhar Sahu, R. Giridhara Gowd and Sachin Jaltare — exploring how the sacred inhabits both inner and outer worlds. Drawing on Cheriyal puppetry, Lepakshi murals, Odisha's temple architecture and rural Bengal's tempera traditions, the artists reinterpret indigenous practices and cultural memory through distinctly contemporary forms. Working across bronze, tempera, watercolour and teak wood, each brings a different material language to a shared meditation on time, ritual and spirituality — proposing a reading of the sacred that sits beyond conventional religious art.
