Biography

Guruvinayak Singh Budhwar, Born on 19 June 2001, Guruvinayak Singh Budhwar is a self-taught artist whose engagement with art began at the age of fourteen. Having been homeschooled for much of his early education, he developed an early interest in painting and gradually began pursuing art alongside his formal education. At the age of seventeen, he presented his first solo exhibition, Reverberation Within, at Alliance Française de Chandigarh in 2018.


Although he initially pursued engineering, Budhwar continued to develop his artistic practice and eventually chose to pursue art professionally. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Chandigarh College of Engineering & Technology, Panjab University, Chandigarh.


His subsequent solo exhibition, Belle du Jour, was held at the Korean Cultural Centre India in 2021. He has also participated in group exhibitions including Sea Through at 5 Gyers & Social, Chandigarh (2020), the Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi Annual Exhibition (2021), and Threads at C3: Codes, Creativity, Communities, organised by Cultural, BeFantastic and Goethe-Zentrum, Mumbai (2021–22).
