Sudip Roy

Sudip Roy is an acclaimed Indian artist known for his mastery of both realism and abstraction. Initially recognized for his strikingly realistic depictions of everyday life, Sudip's works captured the beauty of the mundane with a sensuous depth. Over time, he transitioned into abstraction, embracing the expressive tenors of Abstract Expressionism. His abstract works, rich in mood and movement, reflect a deep engagement with color, light, and form. A graduate of the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Calcutta (1983), he has received several accolades, including a Gold Medal from the Sahitya Parishad, Calcutta (1979) and an award from AIFACS, Delhi (1991). Sudip has exhibited widely in solo and group shows across India and internationally.
