Shovin Bhattacharjee, a renowned multidisciplinary artist, excels in painting, sculpture, digital art, new media art, and public art installations. A pioneer of digital art in India, he is also the first Indian artist to enter an NFT art auction. Born in Shillong, Meghalaya, in 1976, Shovin completed his BFA (1999) and MFA (2001) in Fine Arts from Assam University, Silchar, followed by a diploma in conservation techniques from NRLC, Lucknow (2002). He has since established himself in New Delhi as a professional artist with a global reputation.

 

Shovin has held eleven solo exhibitions, including collaborations with the Indian Cultural Centre and Indian Art Museum, Seoul, Dhoomimal Gallery, New Delhi, and Quarentena Gallery, Santiago. His work has featured in prestigious exhibitions like Sculpture by the Sea, Sydney; 1st Digital Art Biennial, Brazil; Spirit of India, Portugal; and Guanlan International Print Biennial, China. Nationally, his exhibitions include Bharat Bhavan Print Biennales, Harmony Art Shows, and All India Digital Art Exhibitions.

 

Awarded the LKA National Scholarship, Junior Research Fellowship (HRD, Government of India), UNESCO Scholarship, and numerous accolades from the Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation, Shovin’s works are part of significant collections at NGMA, New Delhi; Lalit Kala Akademi; CICA Museum, South Korea; and Art Catto, Portugal. Based in New Delhi, he continues to innovate, blending cultural narratives with contemporary art.
