Madhu Venugopalan
Madhu Venugopalan, born in 1976 in Kochi, Kerala, earned his BFA in Painting from the College of Fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram (1998), and an MFA in Painting from RLV College of Fine Arts, Kerala (2001). A recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (2023) and the Kerala Lalithakala Academy State Award (2008), his work has been featured in seven solo exhibitions and numerous group shows nationally and internationally.
Key exhibitions include Idam (Kochi-Muziris Biennale, 2022–23), Malayalam Project (2014–15), and Space & Place (13th Asian Art Biennale, Bangladesh, 2008). His solo exhibitions include Through the Transparent Layers of Life (SACA, Amsterdam, 2024) and Earthly Cadences and Celestial Rhythms (Kashi Art Gallery, 2023).
Madhu has participated in residencies such as the Kashi International Art Residency (2015) and Indian Art Month, Abu Dhabi (2014). He lives and works in Malayattoor, Kerala.
