Chinmayee Behera

Chinmayee Behera is a contemporary artist from Odisha who has established herself through a strong academic foundation, national recognitions, and active participation in exhibitions and residencies across India. She completed her Bachelor of Visual Arts in Applied Art from Bibhuti Kanungo College of Art & Crafts, Bhubaneswar, in 2013, and earned her Master of Visual Arts in Applied Art from Utkal University of Culture, Bhubaneswar, in 2015.

Over the years, Behera has received several prestigious honours, including the Lalit Kala Akademi Scholarship, New Delhi (2018), the Junior Research Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India (2016), the 36th State Lalit Kala Akademi Award, Odisha (2015), the Camelin Best Entry Award, Mumbai (2016), the Prafulla Art Foundation Best Woman Entry Award, and the 8th Shilpi Divas Award, Bhubaneswar. She was also selected for the Camelin Euro Tour in 2016.

Her artistic journey has been enriched by participation in notable residencies and workshops, including the Piramal Art Residency, Mumbai; Sanskriti Kendra Residency, New Delhi; AIFACS Junior Artist Camp; and the West Zone Cultural Centre Painters Camp, Goa. Behera has exhibited extensively in national and group exhibitions across New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Bhubaneswar, contributing significantly to India’s contemporary art scene.
