Jyothiraj Mayampilly
Jyothiraj Mayampilly is a contemporary Indian artist from Velur, Thrissur, Kerala. He received his primary art education in Thrissur and later completed a National Diploma in Fine Arts from the Government College of Fine Arts, Thrissur. His practice is rooted in close observation of everyday life, often focusing on ordinary people, social realities, and the changing dynamics of contemporary society.
Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, Jyothiraj creates evocative figurative compositions that reflect lived experiences and human relationships. His works frequently engage with themes of community, labour, displacement, and the emotional landscapes of common people, particularly those whose stories often
remain unseen.
Kochi-Muziris He has participated in several significant exhibitions across India, including presentations associated with the Biennale ecosystem, group exhibitions in New Delhi, Kozhikode, and Gurgaon. Through his distinctive visual language, Jyothiraj continues to explore the complexities of contemporary life while remaining deeply connected to the social and cultural realities of Kerala.
