Jaya Lakshmi

Jaya Lakshmi is a contemporary artist celebrated for her innovative exploration of encaustic paintingn, an ancient technique that combines beeswax, plant resin, and pigments to produce luminous, textured surfaces. Valuing the medium’s organic and sustainable qualities, her works radiate warmth, depth, and a meditative quality rooted in materiality.

She holds a Senior Diploma in Painting from Rabindra Bharati University*, a Master’s in English Literature from Andhra University, and a B.Sc. from Delhi University*. Trained under eminent international encaustic artists Caryl St Ama, Lanette Duncan, and Linda Robertson (USA), she continues to refine her craft through experimentation and global engagement.

Lakshmi has exhibited widely, including at Bikaner House, New Delhi (2024)* and *Visual Art Gallery, IHC (2023). Her works are in the Museum of Sacred Arts, Belgium, and the Museum of Encaustic Art, USA. She has received numerous accolades, including the 2024 Women Achiever Award from *Andhra Vanitha Mandali, Delhi.
